Opened in 2017, the hospital’s construction was financed by a 1% sales tax approved by Randolph County’s voters. The 50,000-square-foot hospital features a 24-hour emergency department with eight exam rooms, 15 private inpatient beds, critical care support, on-site diagnostic imaging, an on-site modern laboratory, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, dining in the Tanner Café, a gift shop and more.
Supported by primary care clinics in the Randolph County communities of Roanoke, Woodland and Wedowee, Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama also offers a host of specialty services, including gastroenterology, gynecology, heart care, rehabilitation services, ophthalmology and sleep medicine.
In 2023, David Griffin, MD, FACS, a general surgeon with Carrollton Surgical Group, began offering numerous surgical procedures at Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama.
